"Vartimey" is a non-profit charitable organization that serves people with disabilities.
Our mission is to give special attention to children and young people with disabilities and their families in the Berdychiv district and the city of Berdychiv.

Our History. The Vartimey Charitable Organization has been in existence since 2012. Just a few years ago, we, the founders of the charitable organization "Vartimey", did not even know that there are more than 150 thousand children with disabilities in Ukraine and an even greater number of adults. And every year these numbers are growing. And most children and young people are isolated, in need of communication, social development, and education. Families with a child with a disability are often single-parent families (without a father), so their financial situation is below the subsistence level. Also, most mothers are depressed and desperate because they do not have support from loved ones. We learned how families with children with disabilities live in our country and what difficulties each of them faces. We realized that children with disabilities are one of the most vulnerable categories of the population. Having no experience of working with children with disabilities, we nevertheless decided to unite those who cared and began to study together, meet those who had already worked with people with disabilities, read literature, and build a vision of our work. This is how the charitable organization Vartimey was founded in 2012. At the beginning, we focused our attention on families living in the villages of Berdychiv district, because we thought that the city had more opportunities for children's development and that there might be other organizations that could help. But later, people from the city started contacting us, so we realized that we shouldn't limit ourselves to villages. And now we are ready to start... But where are the children with disabilities? Where can we meet them and invite them? You can't just walk down the street and meet them. So we turned to the local authorities and they helped us by providing us with the contact details of these families. We started visiting them at home and getting to know them personally... On May 1, 2012, we had our first meeting... 6 children and their mothers. We went to a children's show, and then drank tea, ate pizza and talked. It was a small beginning of a big story...
